1. Pigments are beauty products that are simply a loose form of intense color. Eye shadows are essentially pressed and packed pigments so that they are easy to use as eyeshadow.

The lose form of the pigments allows for a variety of uses.  You can use pigments for eyeshadow applications, highlighting, eyeliners, mixing pigments to get new colors, using glitter pigments in nail polishes, on lipsticks and I can keep going on. Pigments are very versatile.

Pigments are marketed by both high end and low end companies. I have tried pigments and glitters from NYX and MAC. Clearly MAC pigments are my obsession but if you want to try pigments and do not want to shell out a lot of moola, try NYX pigments. In Canada you can get NYX products from Pharma plus which is a Canadian drug store.

Ok so today I will tell you a tip where you can get FREE MAC PIGMENTS.

If you go to a MAC counter or a stand alone store, and wish to try a particular product which you are not sure about, you can ask the makeup artist there to give you a sample. She will give you the sample of the product in a cute little jar which I think are so handy.

So I always get samples of MAC pigments and try them out. If I fall in love with a pigment I will go out and get it in full
size.
DISCLAIMER:  Rationale to obtain the pigment sample should be ligit. I usually honestly tell the makeup artist that, I would like to try this pigment out on myself to see if I would like to purchase the particular pigment.

I have not invested in a lot of lose pigments and glitters from MAC but the ones I have are so beautiful. My all time favourite from my collection is MAC Lithe. It is a frosted warm and goldeny nude. I also own MAC Naked which is pretty but I reach for Lithe more.

Pigments are more vibrant and intense than eye shadows. Wet your brush and it will blow you away. The wet application is so gorgeous. So next time you are in MAC do see their pigments and if there are colors you want to try, get samples. The samples go a long way too, because you only need a tiny bit for a look.

2. I use a MAC spooly to groom and comb my eye brows and can I tell you I got this amazing spooly for  FREE. So next time when you are in a MAC store and you want to try their mascara, well do not throw the disposable spooly and take it home. I usually just ask a make up artist for a new one and they are always so sweet and give me one.

The spoolies at MAC are black, and the brush is very good quality. I reach for my free MAC spooly every day :). Here look  how nice it is:
